'Tis the Season to Ban State Testing

As you all know most people hate tests. The worst tests are the state tests. This year was the last year of taking PARCC not only for me but for the rest of the state of Illinois, they're coming up with a new test and it sucks. State testing is bad enough and now they've got a new one. First there was ISAT then there's was PARCC and now who knows what it's going to be.

You don't even have to take state testing. You're parents can sign a piece of paper and BOOM! your out of taking the most boring test in the world. You shouldn't have to read boring stories and then write an essay about it. We already write essays in school. And with math, our whole entire grade is based on how well we do on math tests.

It's not just about the students, what about the people who have to grade over 1,000 tests? They don't get very much money. They offer it to anyone, what if someone just wants some money and doesn't even pay very good attention. Someone who gets a 4 and really deserves a 2 or someone who gets a 1 and deserves a 4.

What about the teachers. They have to sit there making sure no one talks and they have to watch as everyone is bored out of their minds and can't do anything about it. My teachers have two separate 40 mins. breaks and now their breaks are cut down to less than 10 mins., that's a big difference. No one is happy about that.

Also the parents. Parents who don't know about signing their kids out of the state testing have to listen to their kids talk about it. When parents ask "How was your day school?" they want  to hear "It was great in science I learned about mercury disease." They don't want to hear "It was so boring, worst day ever. We had to take PARCC and I had to read this boring 2 stories about trains, and then I had to WRITE about it."

So, as you can see state testing is useless and everyone hates it. Why should we have it?

See ya next time on I'm that girl!
