Graduation Speech

Hello parents, staff and students. Thank you for being with us today as we graduate and take a step forward. Today we are graduating from the greatest school ever. The very first step it took to be here today was when our parents held our hands as we walked into elementary school for the first time. We had the chance to have caterpillars in our class, throughout the year we turned into butterflies. We flew into first grade. This was the grade everyone got to go to the aquarium, we saw stingrays and clown fish. Not only that but we had our first ABC countdown. We fluttered our wings into second grade when some of us started reading our first chapter books. In third grade we were the ones who started reading to our reading buddies. Sadly, our days at Hynes were ending. Who could forget fourth grade? We were the leaders of the school. We read frindle. Then we performed Little Red Riding Hood for the first graders. As we end our time at Hynes we start out again at a new school, Golf. Everyone was scared eighth graders were going to bully and make fun of us but we were wrong. We were just leaders and now we're starting over again and making new beginnings. The only thing different was our parents weren't holding our hands as we walk into school. Everyone was ready for big changes but not a lot of things changed. The year went by pretty fast and now, WOAH!, summer's over and it's fall and everyone is in sixth grade. There was a pretty big change here. We got to carry string bags around, and we had more than one teacher for six periods. Who could forget we got to go to Medieval times. The year had come to end and and we were almost back to leaders of the school. Waiting three years to get our spot back. As we watched some of our favorite eighth graders leave we realized we were the leaders. And this was all going to happen to us in a year, final projects, finals and leaving to go to high school. Our journey at golf ends here but we'll be keeping memories from golf forever. As we say goodbye, we will never forget. We will always come back to visit our teachers for teaching us half the things we know. So it' not going to be a goodbye, it's going to be a see ya later.
